Rennie Mackintosh inspired Gate and Railing

Rennie Mackintosh inspired gate and railing by the award winning bespoke metalwork specialists West Country Blacksmiths.

A Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired gate and railing project bespoke made by the craftsmen of West Country Blacksmiths.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect, designer and artist. His artistic approach had much in common with European Symbolism. His work was influential on European design movements such as Art Nouveau. His design style was revolutionary and is much loved.

The metalwork was produced following a concept design submitted by our client. Our team of smiths developed this design following a site survey. The metalwork was designed to be in three equally sized panels which fit within the opening beside the house. One panel operate as a gate with the two other panels acting as a fixed railing or screen.

To offer both a modern look and to offer the very best rust protective finish, the metalwork was finished by hot-dip galvanising the metalwork. This was very important as the gate is in a coastal location in Plymouth, Cornwall.

Our team of expert blacksmiths took the project from concept to completed installation.

Our clients were extremely happy with us turning there ideas into a beautiful set of Rennie Mackintosh inspired gates and railing. So much so they sent us the below letter –

‘Dear Blacksmiths,

Thank you very much for our Rennie Mackintosh gate and railing. We are really delighted with it – The design is perfect, the quality is terrific and the workmanship has been faultless.
