Structural metalwork for new workshop at Allerford Forge, near Minehead

Project Description

We are pleased to announce the completion of a newly build workshop at Allerford Forge to double the current workshop capacity.

Working in partnership with the National Trust, West Country Blacksmiths designed, made and completed the full project to build the new workshop.

The newly completed workshop is built to the side of an existing building at the forge on a newly laid reinforced concrete foundation. Its built around a galvanised steel frame structure which has block work on the inside and is cladded on the outside in black painted timber.

The work was fully undertaken by West Country Blacksmiths including the design, making and building of the project. The steel frame was by West Country Blacksmiths and installed on the newly laid foundations by our site team. With help from some specialist contractors the blockwork, cladding, electric, plumbing, roofing and extraction system were all completed by the blacksmiths within budget and ontime.
