Edward Kent and his wife in-front of Allerford Forge

Following a campaign by the National Trust to increase its historical archive of Allerford Forge, we were pleased to have receive this picture of Edward Kent and his wife, proudly pictured infront of the forge, which his family ran for decades during the 19th century.

In the background of the picture you will see the E. Kent and Son sign, which is now a feature of the West Somerset Rural Life Museum in Allerford.

We would like to thank Ben & Paulyn Kent for supplying us with this photo, and we welcome people to send us more pictures to help archive the history of the Allerford Forge.

To find out more, or to view further picture please select the below link or visit the website of West Country Blacksmiths, who continue to run the forge as a traditional blacksmiths forge.
