We are pleased to welcome visitors to the forge to our onsite blacksmith’s gallery, housed in the old stone building, which was formerly the cobbler’s shop.
The gallery contains a small selection of metalwork and a range of pictures of previous projects undertaken by the tradesmen of West Country Blacksmiths. As well as browsing these items, visitors may also take the opportunity to watch the blacksmiths at work at the traditional coal forge, visible through the gallery window.
The gallery and forge are open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm and often on Saturdays from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm (please call to confirm), and when we are open there will always be a friendly face around to answer any questions you may have.
The blacksmith’s gallery also displays a range of items available to purchase either onsite or via our online shop. (To be directed to our online shop, please click this link – Online Shop)
In 2015, as part of the developments at the forge, a new onsite gallery is due to be built with both an internal and external display area. A celebratory opening is planned, to include a full gallery and workshop open weekend at which we will invite people to view our new range of work and see the blacksmiths in action in our freshly extended workshop.
To keep up to date with developments, the latest projects and all the news from the forge, and to be the first to know of events held by West Country Blacksmiths, please become a ‘Friend of the Forge’.
